Oh Peru, Peru

The South Americans will have to be more precise as they prepare to take on the French next. Their inability to capitalise on a number of chances have cost them dearly after returning to the World Cup stage after 36 years.

Thanks for joining us for this Group C clash.

If supporting Nigeria is more your thing, then stay tuned for more live coverage when the Flying Eagles take on Croatia in a Group D clash later tonight.

The Danes cross the line

90 +5' The final whistle has blown and the Danes walk away with three points to join France at the top of Group C.

One last chance

90 + 4' Peru have a corner but it's touched away by that man Schmeichel. Plenty of white shirts but Denmark eventually come away with the ball only for it to head back Peru's way who are unable to make it happen.

Desperate times for Peru

90 + 1 The Peruvians have five minutes of stoppage time to try and turn this around.

Eriksen below par

86' Eriksen comes close to burying the game for Denmark but blasts it straight at Peru keeper Gallese.

Another wonderful opportunity wasted

84' Jefferson Farfan rocks the boat before being substituted but Schmeichel is on hand to make his sixth save which equals the highest number of saves at this World Cup.

Ah man ...

79' Peru come agonisingly close as Cueva manages to beat two men before picking out Guerrero in the Denmark penalty area. He tries to find the bottom right-hand corner with a back heel with Schmeichel beaten but the ball goes wide. Just no luck.

80' Jorgensen meanwhile replaces Christensen for Denmark.

Some useless info

75' Crowd attendance at the Mordovia arena is 40 502, close to capacity apparently.

Corner time

73' Eriksen prepares and delivers quite poorly. It will be retaken. Second attempt is better but fades to nothing.

Peru just won't back down

71' Farfan is centimetres away from nodding home an Alberto Rodriguez header across the face of goal as Peru mount waves of attacks. Schmeichel is being kept busy.
