Fearnhill School congratulates every student on 'exceptional performances'

Fearnhill students were celebrating great A-level results today. 

Every student secured a place at the university or college of their choice and there were some exceptional performances, says headteacher Liz Ellis. 

Among other great outcomes, Adam Hay achieved one A* and two A grades and will be going to Leeds University to study international business.

Luke Fiddy achieved three A grades and is off to study chemistry at Warwick University, while Jessica Amosu achieved two As and a B grade and will be studying medical science at Anglia Ruskin University. 

Headteacher Liz Ellis said: "Every student deserves congratulations for their results. 

"Whatever their next step may be, they should feel proud of the work they have put in and the progress they have made. 

"As always, we also need to pay tribute to the teaching staff who have tirelessly supported and encouraged our students, as well as the family and friends behind every success story. 

This is a team effort and a community celebration." 

Thomas Alleyne Academy's results:

Thomas Alleyne Academy sixth form students are celebrating successful results today and will move on to university or apprenticeships of their choice.

Headteacher Mr Lewis said: 

"Today's results are testament to the hard work of our students and our staff, who have enabled our students to progress to a wide range of positive destinations. Our students deserve every success and we wish them the very best as they embark on the next step of their education, or start their careers.” 

Special mention has been reserved for Vita Dovydova whose excellent results will see her study psychology at university. Alongside her studies she completed the 'Empathy Project' at the Lister Hospital, helping young patients at Accident and Emergency.

Zander Brown has also been singled out, after securing his place to study computer science at the University of Hertfordshire. He said:

“I am feeling really relieved and am now looking forward to going to university.I feel sad to be leaving Thomas Alleyne’s but have enjoyed my time at the school.” 


Alongside university places, students have secured prestigious apprenticeships in business, accounting and finance. Connor Ellwood has had his place confirmed for a higher apprenticeship in accountancy with Price Bailey Chartered Accountants. 

Thomas Alleyne wish their students the very best of luck in the development of their careers.

St Christopher School proud of 'strong set' of A-level results

Sixth form pupils and staff at St Christopher School, Letchworth, are today celebrating a strong set of A-level results with 52 per cent of grades at A* to B, and 73 per cent of grades A* to C.

Pupils have secured places on courses at universities including Bristol,
University College London, Exeter, Leeds, SOAS, Nottingham; University of the Arts London, Kings College London, Southampton; Leicester and Bath.

Head Richard Palmer, said: “We are extremely proud of all of our pupils who
have worked hard over the last two years to achieve this strong set of results.

"There were a number of outstanding academic performances with pupils
achieving A*s and As in all their subjects, however we are equally as proud of all of our pupils who have worked hard to achieve their grades.

“While pupils need good grades and strong academic attainment to access their chosen next step after school, they also need something arguably more
important too. 

"They need a core confidence in themselves as young people, and a sense of their own worth and responsibility. I am proud that all of our pupils take that with them as they leave St Chris and head to their next destinations.”

Barnwell School releases their A-level results:

The governing body of Barnwell School, together with staff, are "immensely proud of the achievements of students in the sixth form." Many of the school's students are heading off to Universities across the country to move onto their next stage of education, whilst others are embarking upon excellent apprenticeships and into full time employment positions.

Barclay Academy's results have arrived:

This year Barclay has seen twice as many students pass successfully through the sixth form compared to last year. The students who have worked with their teachers have done really well, achieving the results to move on to first class apprenticeships, good jobs and places at their chosen universities.

The staff are all immensely proud of the students' achievements and the way in which they have contributed to the school community.

The following students have been singled out for particular praise:

  • Emily Bowden - achieved A grades in biology and maths and a B in psychology. She will study at Queen's University, Belfast in the new academic year.
  • Francesca Platten - Distinction in health & social care, a B in geography and a C in biology. She will attend University of Hertfordshire to study nursing.
  • Nikolajs Kozlavs - B grades in business and geography and a C in psychology. He will read aerospace engineering at the University of Hertfordshire.
  • Luke Prentice - B grades in maths and psychology and C in biology. He can look forward to Lincoln's hills where he will read psychology at the University of Lincoln.
  • Mohit Nair - B grades in film and religious studies and Cs in history and politics. Mohit will be studying international relations at the American International University in London.
Hitchin's Princess Helena College marks A-level success

Students at Princess Helena College have once again achieved impressive results with over half of students receiving A* - B grades and nearly three quarters of all students attaining A* - C grades.

Outgoing head girl Emily Pattison Blain, Serena Polycarpou and Leela Wolstencroft excelled, with a clean sweep of A* and A grades.

Emily will be reading philosophy at St Andrews University. Serena is heading to Queen Mary University London to read law and politics. Leela will be studying law at LSE.

Emily said: “I’m a bit overwhelmed but so pleased, I couldn’t have achieved these results without the help and support of all my teachers at Princess Helena College. 

"I’m really excited about heading to university and will take many happy memories with me of my time at Princess Helena College.”

Other university destinations for Year 13 students include Nottingham, Birmingham and Oxford Brookes where they will study a wide range of subjects including medicine, psychology, law, philosophy, geography and politics.

The school’s headteacher Sarah Davis said:

“I am pleased that the hard work and commitment of the students have been reflected in these excellent results. 

"Our Year 13 leavers are to embark on a wide variety of courses at university which reflects Princess Helena College’s nurturing ethos to develop each student’s individual strengths and talents."

The school are focusing on individual success stories rather than publishing attainment or progress figures. But, the pupils have made the school's staff proud again, with more than 100 going on to  university and others securing high-level apprenticeships. They also are sending out a big thank you to all the hardworking staff.

Special mention goes out to:

  • Head girl Erin Oliver who gained an A* in psychology and As in chemistry and biology and will study dentistry at Bristol University.

  • Chi-Chi Anene will study banking and finance with German at Cardiff University.

  • Connor Robinson-Airs gained top marks and will read mathematics at Kings College, London.

  • Sandra Shali will study medicine at Queen Mary University, London and George Meywes will read biomedical science at the University of Southampton.
