St Albans High School for Girls

St Albans High School for Girls is celebrating their exam success in GCSEs this year, with over 90 per cent of grades awarded at 9-7.

Headteacher Amber Waite  said: “I am so delighted for the girls who have earned an outstanding set of GCSE results – testament to their hard work and dedication over the past several years.

"And what an accomplishment! I am particularly impressed with the girls’ performance in the STEM subjects (biology, chemistry, physics, computer science and mathematics), where they returned 97 per cent grades 9-7.

"Well done to all of the girls and also to their teachers and parents, who often feel every step of the examination journey as acutely as their pupils and daughters!

"I know there will be many well-earned celebrations this weekend, and I am hugely looking forward to getting to know these remarkable young women as they take the next step of their educational journey in the Sixth Form.”

The key results as they stand include:

  • 90.2 per cent level 9-7
  • 99.6 per cent level 9-5
  • 37 per cent of students earned 6 or more grade 9s
  • 97 per cent of grades in biology, chemistry, physics, computer science and maths were level 9-7
