Mixcloud have announced a three-part strategy in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The platform will waive its own revenue share for SELECT, its recently launched fan-creator-model, for the next 3 calendar months, giving SELECT channel creators 100% of the income after the underlying artists and played in the shows have been paid. A group of musicians have launched a petition, calling on Spotify to triple the amount they pay artists per stream. The petition asks that such a chance be implemented permanently, not just amid the COVD-19 pandemic. The petition, launched by Boston musician Evan Greer, also urges Spotify to make a $500,000 donation to Sweet Relief's COVID 19 fund, "to help support artists who are in urgent need, in part because of Spotify's exploitative pay practices"

Lyon festival Nuits Sonores has been postponed. Originally set to take place from 19th - 24th May, the festival's organisers have shared in a statement that the weekender is now expected to take place from 22nd to 26th July. Read the festival's full statement here.
Beloved UK festival Freerotation will not take place this year due to the coronavirus pandemic. In an official statement, the festival's organisers wrote: "It is with great sadness that we have decided it’s too risky to go ahead with Freerotation 2020 under the current circumstances, and we have decided to postpone it for a year."
