Carsley spoke to the media after the match on a range of topics following England's comfortable win.
On not signing the national anthem:
"It's not affected me (the reports about it), I fully respect peoples' opinions.
"It's something I’ve never done (sing the anthem), but I fully respect both national anthems.
"It was one of the proudest days of my career to lead the team out in Dublin,
"It doesn’t make me less committed not singing the anthem)...
"I was looking forward so much to the match, the proudest day of my career, you couldn’t have written it."
On Jack Grealish and Declan Rice:
"Pleased but not surprised (with their performances).
"They've both been in football long enough to know it would be hostile, but I thought fans were respectful, and handled it well.
"It was great for them to score the goals, but more importantly they won."
On Ireland's formation"
"We prepared that it would be 3 or 5 at the back, that they would be compact and not leave much space.
"Ireland have some really talented players, especially the subs that came on..
"They’ve probably got their work cut out with their new manager, but he has coaches who can help, and it was probably a tough first game... I thought Ireland did well on the counter-attack."
On going to the wrong bench ahead of kick-off.
"As you know, I spent a lot of time on the bench (for Ireland)," Carsley joked.
