Liverpool have been handed a huge Carabao Cup final boost as another Newcastle United star will be missing the clash.

Anthony Gordon is suspended after his red card in the FA Cup v Brighton, whilst Lewis Hall was ruled out as per reports last night.

 Alexander Isak also limped off in the cup clash, and tonight a breaking from Craig Hope of Mail Sport has stated that defender Sven Botman is set to miss the vital cup final.

The player is set for a knee operation and will see a specialist shortly.

Fans are all saying the same thing after Ibrahima Konate survived what has been described as a ‘blatant’ red card.

In a first-half largely dominated by the home side, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia had a goal ruled out for offside, before a hugely controversial moment between Konate and Bradley Barcola. 

Konate tackled Barcola, with fans adamant a red card should have been given, even going as far to say the club are 'protected' by referees.

Liverpool attacker Cody Gakpo has not been named on the bench for Liverpool for tonight's clash at Paris Saint Germain.

It is understood that he misses out due to a knock sustained in training.

Despite travelling with the squad to Paris, he does not even make the bench.

Manchester United's injury woes have severely impacted their Europa League squad as they name a threadbare squad to take on Real Sociedad.

Arsenal are focused on trying to retain Jorginho and Thomas Partey who are out of contract this summer, while Chelsea are one of the only teams that seem to have their house in order with no players out of contract.

Meanwhile, Ruben Amorim is hoping for a rebuild in summer though funds are limited.

The four players out of contract this summer have been on the periphery of Ruben Amorim’s squad, so none would be expected to have extensions offered.

Victor Lindelof, Jonny Evans, Christian Eriksen,  and Tom Heaton could all be on their way in summer.

Arne Slot has since spoken to the media on Gakpo:

“He was close to be ready. But yesterday, he blocked a shot. We will judge tomorrow if he can be in the squad. It will be a close call.”

The Times Martyn Ziegler has reported that the FA have shared what Arne Slot told Michael Oliver after the Merseyside derby.

Slot allegedly shook the referee's hand and said: 

"If we don't win the league, I'll f*cking blame you." 

It's then alleged that Slot said to the assistant referee that it was a "f*cking disgrace". 

Slot argues that he didn't say the above. Instead he claims he said: 

"If we don't win the league, I will have you to thank for that." 

Slot does not dispute saying "f*cking disgrace" to the Assistant Referee.
