Rob Kearney has England reservations despite massacre of Wales

England's 68-14 rout of Wales probably eclipsed France's demolition of Italy a few weeks ago as it was more unexpected.

England had been relatively poor throughout the Six Nations, with two lucky wins over France and Scotland.

But everyone showed up today in what was an incredibly complete performance.

However, in the Virgin studios Rob Kearney had his reservations.

The former Ireland fullback said: "It's hard to know because they won two games they shouldn't have won.

"They were blessed that France turned up and decided they didn't want to catch the ball that day and then blessed against Scotland that Finn Russell, who is normally the best of goal kickers, missed some really important kicks.

"Today was by a considerable distance  their best performance of the Championship..... I loved the power, the physicality, the quality of the running lines, the speed of the ruck, and didn't they kick the ball away aimlessly..... it was a very complete performance.

"But only a few weeks ago they were very poor, it's as if they don't have a real consistency just yet.

"If they can follow up that performance and do that for a sustained amount of time over the summer tour and next year, then yes they're definitely a team to be reckoned with."

Brilliant Ireland try chalked off after touch judge error

James Lowe thought he had set up a magnificent try for Hugo Keenan earlier today.

After getting space out wide following a superb pass from Keenan, Lowe did magnificently to see off two defenders and keep his feet in field before throwing the ball back into play, and back into the hands of Keenan.

However, the touch judge had wrongfully put his flag up for touch, and the try could not be awarded after replays showed that the Irish winger had stayed in.

Ireland Six Nations hopes all but over after England run riot in Cardiff

Whatever slim chances Ireland had at securing the Six Nations title on the final day, look all but over after a quick England start in Cardiff.

Captain Maro Itoje crashed over after just two minutes, before winger Tom Roebuck finished brilliantly on his Six Nations debut on 10 minutes, after a magnificent pass from Fin Smith.

Wales made a mini comeback, but Tommy Freeman, starting at centre, made it three tries, and soon after, Chandler Cunningham-South made it four.

And for good measure, Will Stuart went over on the stroke of half-time.

A bonus point win for England will end Ireland's hopes of a title.

Try for Italy
Sheehan gets his hat-trick

Ireland work their way into the Italian 22 after another penalty.

Jamison Gibson-Park, who has been poor today, spots space and sends a beautiful cross-field kick to Mack Hansen who passes is down to Sheehan to stroll over for his hat-trick.

Crowley misses.

Vincent card gets upgraded to a red after hit on Keenan

From Italy's kick-off, a way too enthusiastic Ross Vintcent goes sprinting towards Keenan, who caught the restart.

He does not dip in his tackle attempt and their heads clash.

He is shown a yellow card and sent for a bunker review but it is upgraded to a red.

Sheehan crashes over again

A great break from Mack Hansen get Ireland into the Italian 22.

James Ryan is denied a try by some fortunate defending, but Ireland had advantage and after going to the line again, Dan Sheehan is over from the maul.

Crowley misses the conversion.

Fans were all saying the same thing after a rubbish first half from Ireland

Ireland looked incredibly sluggish and disjointed against the Italians in that first half, with a mountain of unforced errors, and an inability to overcome intense Italian pressure.

On social media, most fans were in agreement that not much had changed since last week.
