Ruben Amorim responds to whether he will drop keeper Andre Onana

After a disappointing performance, Ruben Amorim was quizzed on whether he will drop goalkeeper Andre Onana.

At fault for the goals tonight, Onana was the subject of mass criticism on social media from Manchester United fans.

And asked whether he will continue to start the current Red Devils number 1 keeper, Amorim responded bluntly:

"If you look at the season I've made more mistakes than them during these last months. It can happen. The good thing is we have another game to change everything."

"It's important to think about the next game. When one game has a mistake the whole team has a mistake."

Man Utd fans demand one player is dropped after Lyon performance

Manchester United have endured a tough first-half at Lyon, in which they fell behind courtesy of a Thiago Almada goal in comical fashion.

Whipping a ball into the area, the ball bounced before Onana and then over him, resulting in the opener.

Speaking before the match, Onana stated that United were 'much better' than their opponents.

Elsewhere though, fans are furious with Rasmus Hojlund as he failed to convert a golden chance.

Taking to X, fans have seen enough, with one brutally stating: "Sell Hojlund before full-time".

A second added: "Is Hojlund a striker?"

A third remarked: "Merino might be a better striker."

Man United target 'bargain' Premier League forward as £30m release clause emerges

A Manchester United prime summer target has a summer release clause described by many as a 'bargain'.

Earlier this week, it was reported that United had identified Ipswich Town's Liam Delap as their no.1 summer striker target, ahead of the likes of Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen.

At this point, it was reported that the player's release clause is £40m should The Tractor Boys be relegated.

However, in a breaking report from The Guardian, it is now understood that the clause falls to £30m if relegation occurs, with the drop likely looming for Kieran McKenna's side.

The player is also a target for the likes of Chelsea, with Newcastle United and Liverpool posing a 'credited interest'.

Manchester City have a 20% sell-on clause and a buyback option, although the possibility of a move back to the Etihad is seen as unlikely - Delap wants regular first-team football.

Andre Onana hits back at Nemanja Matic calling him ‘one of worst keepers in Utd history’

Andre Onana has responded to Nemanja Matic calling him 'one of the worst keepers in United history' ahead of the Lyon v Manchester United Europa League clash.

Going into the quarter-finals, Onana stated that United are a 'much better' side than their opponents, to which Matic responded that Onana had to earn the right to make a claim like that:

“When you are one of the worst goalkeepers in Man United history, you need to take care what you’re talking [about].”

Onana then addressed the comments via a post on X:

"I would never be disrespectful to another club. We know that tomorrow will be a difficult game against a strong opponent. We focus on preparing a performance to make our fans proud. At least I’ve lifted trophies with the greatest club in the world. Some can’t say the same."
