Praise for referee Amashukeli as Munster lock avoids card after 'rugby incident'

There were tense moments for Munster early on during their quarter-final clash with Bordeaux in the Champions Cup.

Bordeaux's Benjamin Tameifuna clashed heads with Jean Kleyn when the South African lock brought down the prop.

Referee Nika Amashukeli stopped play and went to the TMO to check the tackle.

However, the officials correctly agreed that it was just a 'rugby incident' with Kleyn clearly bent at the hips when making the hit.

Amashukeli was praised for his decision and his clear explanation of it.

Bordeaux prop winds up Munster fans in midst of hammering

Munster find themselves 29-3 down against Bordeaux, after tries from Damian Penaud, Maxime Lucu, Pete Samu, and Jon Echegaray.

During the first half, prop Benjamin Tameifuna was seen winding up the travelling support.

Clever play from Louis Bielle-Biarrey sets up stunning try against Munster

Munster are currently under the cosh against Bordeaux in their Champions Cup quarter-final.

The score is currently 15-3, with the home side making yards at will.

All three of Bordeaux tries have been crackers, with Damian Penaud, Maxime Lucu, and Pete Samu going over.

For their second try, some clever play by Louis Bielle-Biarrey allowed his scrum-half Lucu to touch down.

With the winger ahead of the play when a kick was put through, he showed brilliant dexterity to avoid touching the ball and giving away a penalty for offside.
