Future uncertain for Andre Onana as keeper attracts interest from abroad

Andre Onana's future at Man United could be in doubt after it was reported that clubs from abroad are monitoring the goalkeepers situation.

Onana has struggled since arriving in Manchester in 2023, showing signs of promise at times, but has too often made mistakes in goal that have left many frustrated.

Now, Fabrizio Romano has reported that Onana could very possibly leave the Red Devils this summer amid interest from abroad.

The clubs interested remain those who were looking to get his signature prior to his move in 2023, mostly in Saudi Arabia.

Romano reported: "Saudi Pro League clubs were keen on signing André Onana already in summer 2023, when the GK only wanted Man United.

"The interest remains active ahead of the summer transfer window; no decision has been made yet, as Onana hopes to be back in MUFC starting XI vs Lyon."

With a continuation of poor performances, the club may well look elsewhere for a new number one keeper, meaning Onana could be on his way out of the club.

Only time will tell.

Premier League club 'in pole position' to sign Borussia Dortmund starlet Jamie Gittens

A Premier League club is "in pole position" to sign young starlet Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund who "wants to leave the Bundesliga".

As reported by Sacha Tavolieri for SkySports.ch, the 20-year-old sensation has his entourage eyeing up a move to the Premier League with Chelsea being the front runners due to an already established relation with his people.

However, the fear is that Chelsea may already have too many stars in their squad to accommodate the winger.

Bayern Munich are also reportedly interested, however, Gittens apparently has his heart set on a return to his home land.

If Dortmund do allow Gittens to leave, the German club expect to make €75m (£64m) from his departure.

The club hope this price tag may put off Liverpool who are also said to be interested in the player.

Gittens has been a key player for struggling Dortmund, being involved in 22% of the clubs goals this season.

He counts 12 goals and five assists in 43 games in all competitions.

Al-Nassr eye up Liverpool star as Vinicius Jr alternative

Saudi club Al-Nassr are eyeing up one of Liverpool's best players if they cannot secure the signing of Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr.

Luis Diaz has been one of many stars in Liverpool's soon to be title-winning team and has caught the eye of clubs from Europe and beyond.

Barcelona have long been linked with the Colombian winger, however, it's Al Nassr who are currently showing interest in the 28-year-old.

talkSport report that another Saudi club, Al-Ahli, are lining up a £300m bid for Vinicius Jr, leading to Al-Nassr to look elsewhere, after previously showing interest in the Brazilian.

The sports news site suggest that Ronaldo's side will be looking to Liverpool for their man, and Diaz could be tempted away with the right offer.

Crystal Palace lining up sensational summer move for Man United star

Crystal Palace are lining up a sensational summer move for one of Man United's star players.

Since leaving Man United for Aston Villa on loan in January, Marcus Rashford has looked a player reborn in the Midlands getting eight goal contributions in 14 games.

This form hasn't gone unnoticed, with multiple clubs eyeing up the winger in the case Villa don't make the move permanent.

As reported by The Sun and relayed by multiple outlets including TNT Sports, Crystal Palace are reportedly in for a shock summer move for Rashford.

Villa have a £40m option to buy the player, however, if they wish not to trigger this clause, the Eagles may swoop in.

The source told The Sun: “Palace are keeping a very close eye on Rashford and what happens with Villa and United.

“There is a good buzz around the club at the moment and someone like Marcus is exactly the kind of player they would love to attract.

“They know they would have to keep onto their better players to try and persuade Marcus to move to South London.”

Roy Keane rips into Onana replacement after blunder gives Newcastle easy goal

Altay Biyandir had a great opportunity to make his case to be Man United's first-choice keeper today.

The Turk had been brought in by Ruben Amorim in place of Andre Onana, who had been at fault for both of Lyon's goals in the Europa League on Thursday.

However, the stand-in keeper made a terrible blunder with a misplaced pass, allowing Bruno Guimaraes to score Newcastle's fourth goal in their 4-1 win at St James' Park.

After the game, Roy Keane ripped into the keeper for his error.

He said: “It’s too risky, it’s absolutely too risky. There are players around you.

“At the highest level, the real top players, it’s about your decision-making. I’m quick to defend goalkeepers when they first come into the team because I think it does take five, six, seven games to get up to speed with the shots.

“But that basic mistake there, honestly I can’t understand it because this is top level, this is big boy stuff. Newcastle are flying, you do your own homework on who you’re playing.

“If you’re going to go long or you’re going to chip it, make sure you go too far. Then at least it’s up the pitch, you can argue afterwards. If you lose it there, someone is in on goal on top of you. That’s just common sense.”

Ruben Amorim explains why Andre Onana was dropped for Newcastle clash

Ruben Amorim has explained why Andre Onana was dropped for the clash at St James' Park today.

Speaking ahead of the game to Sky Sports, the Manchester United gaffer was quizzed on the absence of his usual number one choice between the sticks.

Responding to the question, Amorim said:

“Sometimes, you have to push the player to play again; sometimes, you have to let him disconnect a little bit.

“Tomorrow, André will be in training to prepare for the next one, so I felt that it was a good time for André to disconnect”.

It is understood that Onana will most likely return for United's next clash - Lyon on Thursday 17 April.

When Liverpool can officially win the title after beating West Ham

Liverpool have taken another large step towards the title after defeating West Ham United in the Anfield sunshine.

Luis Diaz scored the opening goal after being assisted by Mo Salah - who broke a Premier League record of season goal contributions in the process.

After an Andy Robertson own-goal, it seemed the match was heading for a draw, but Virgil van Dijk headed home the winner in front of The Kop with one minute of normal time to go.

Now, eyes are well and truly on when the title will be lifted and it could be as soon as next weekend.

Should Ipswich Town beat Arsenal, Liverpool could claim the title if they win straight afterwards at Leicester City - on Sunday 20 April.

That scenario would lift The Reds to 79 points, whilst The Gunners would sit on 63 points - with only five games to play.

That would mean Mikel Arteta's side could only reach 78 points, thereby putting the champagne on ice for Arne Slot's side.

Mo Salah makes Premier League history by smashing remarkable record

Mohamed Salah has made Premier League history after his brilliant goal involvement versus West Ham United.

Putting it on a plate for Luis Diaz, prompting the opener at Anfield, he has provided yet another assist for the runaway leaders.

And in doing so, he has set a new record for the most goal involvements EVER in a 38-game Premier League season.

With 27 goals and 18 assists, the Egyptian King has been directly involved in a stunning 45 goals already.

Legend.

Man United player set to be handed full Premier League debut in Newcastle clash

A Man United player is set to be given his full Premier League debut this afternoon against Newcastle after Andre Onana was confirmed to be dropped from the squad.

Onana has struggled during his time in Manchester, showing moments of real quality, but also falling foul to a noticeable number of poor mistakes.

Two particularly costly mistakes against Lyon in midweek has led Ruben Amorim to drop the player completely from the match day squad, prompting his number one to focus on himself.

This change means a full Premier League debut is in store for United number two Altay Bayindir, who has had a mixed season himself.

Playing six times for United this season across multiple cup tournaments, the Turkish keeper looked shaky when United went out of the League Cup to Spurs.

However, it wasn't long after when Bayindir stole the headlines in the FA Cup against Arsenal, making a catalogue of fantastic saves including a penalty in normal time and in the shootout.

Despite this, he has yet to play a minute in the Premier League, until today.

He'll have to be in the zone too, as United take on a very inform Newcastle.
