Man United have improved on their one-star food hygiene rating by going up to a two-star rating!
The Times reported last night that the stadium had been given the rating after mouse droppings were found across multiple hospitality areas.
The report was carried out by Trafford council on April 16 and gave recognition that “significant work has taken place to control the mice activity on site”.
However it stated that numerous locations, including the Ambassador Lounge, the Number 7 Suite and the Devil’s Bar, contained rodent droppings.
No droppings were found in any food prep areas.
Other issues included open containers exceeding recommended label dates.
An example included a pesto container which had a ‘one-month’ label on it despite manufacturer instructions to use within eight days.
No hot water and soap available was noted as well as the stadium's lack of cleaniness.
In December 2023, United were given a one-star rating after guests at a corporate event were served raw chicken.
Liverpool have submitted an £80m bid for one of Europe's biggest talents.
After finally getting to lift the Premier League trophy yesterday, Liverpool have wasted no time in preparing for next season as they hunt for their next marquee signing.
Top of that list is Bundesliga star Florian Wirtz who has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League for some time now.
The 22-year-old is greatly appreciated by Arne Slot and Fabrizio Romano has reported that the club have now submitted a bid of €100m (£80m) for the German.
Romano also reported that the player "only wants Liverpool".
This is big news for the Reds after Wirtz had been linked with Man City and Bayern Munich too.
It would seem, however, that the young star has already made Anfield his destination of choice.
Despite just a 1-1 result today, Liverpool fans are overjoyed as incredible scenes can be seen at Anfield.
There are tears, there are songs, there are hugs and kisses.
An evidently emotional Trent has been seen on the field, shaking hands and hugging his team mates, as he prepares to say goodbye to Anfield.
Liverpool, Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea, Newcastle and Tottenham (Europa League) have all qualified for the Champions League.
Aston Villa have qualified for the Europa League along with Crystal Palace thanks to the FA Cup.
Nottingham Forest have qualified for the Conference League.
1-1 is the final score and Anfield has erupted into cheers as Liverpool fans celebrate their Premier League victory.
Gravenberch has been sent off after a last man challenge on Kamada.
Martinez has been sent off after a ridiculous 'tackle' on Hojlund.
After Hojlund was gifted the ball from Cash he was barged to the floor by Martinez who was immediately sent off.
Villa are now down to ten as Champions League football hangs in the balance.
Just how big could this be?
Sunderland fans will certainly be waking up with sore heads this morning after celebrating yesterday’s huge play-off final victory, which secures their place in next season’s Premier League.
That said, as today’s games kick off, Sunderland’s success is unlikely to be welcomed by the other Premier League clubs.
Why? Football finance expert Kieran Maguire explains that had Sheffield United been promoted instead, the rest of the Premier League would have benefited from a £39 million windfall.
This is due to Premier League rules allowing relegated clubs to receive parachute payments for up to three years — or two years if relegated immediately after promotion.
These payments amount to 55%, 45%, and 20% of the equal share of Premier League broadcast revenue over the three years.
However, if a Championship club receiving parachute payments is promoted back to the Premier League within that period, they forfeit any outstanding payments.
Unclaimed parachute money is then kept by the Premier League and redistributed among its 20 member clubs.
Overall, the Premier League expects to save £107 million in parachute payments this year — money that is shared as a significant bonus among the top-flight clubs.
Sheffield United were just one win away from promotion. Had they succeeded, the Premier League wouldn’t have to pay them £39 million next season, increasing those savings to distribute.
Instead, Sunderland earned promotion, but they are not eligible for parachute payments. This means:
The Premier League still owes Sheffield United the £39 million parachute payment next season.
That £39 million will not be saved or redistributed among Premier League clubs.
As a result, other clubs miss out on part of the £107 million 'bonus' they were expecting.
