Newcastle striker target asks to leave his current club amid transfer pursuit

After failed bids for a host of huge names for their vacant number nine position, Newcastle United look to have finally found their man.

The club allowed Callum Wilson to leave at the end of his contract, and are currently amidst a standoff with last season's top scorer Alexander Isak who is refusing to play and demanding a transfer to Liverpool.

The Magpies went in for Benjamin Sesko and Hugo Ekitike but missed out to both Man United and Liverpool respectively.

The club have been handed a major boost today in their pursuit of new target Jorgen Strand Larsen.

Per David Ornstein, the Norwegian striker has 'politely expressed' his desire to leave Wolves this summer.

Newcastle have already had two bids (worth £50 million and £55 million) for the player rejected and are expected to make a third offer in the coming days.

Wolves' current stance is that Strand Larsen will not be sold this summer.

The 25-year-old scored 16 goals while on loan at the midlands club last season, and was only officially secured as a permanent Wolves player a few weeks ago.

Newcastle set to make £60m bid for Alexander Isak replacement

Newcastle are reportedly set to make a £60m bid as the Magpies search for alternatives to Alexander Isak.

Newcastle have had a turbulent transfer window, notably with the Isak saga, as the Swedish striker still refusing to play for his club team as he tries to force a move to Liverpool.

With this conundrum of being forced to sell their best player, or see him languish on the sidelines, Newcastle are looking elsewhere for someone to lead their line.

This has led to the Magpies landing on Wolves' towering Norwegian forward Jorgen Strand Larsen.

The club has already had a £50m and £55m bid rejected by Wolves and now Sky Sports are reporting that Newcastle intent on bidding £60m for the striker.

Strand Larsen scored 14 goals and assisted 4 in the league last season.

Jadon Sancho decision to reject Roma reportedly influenced by relationship with US rapper

It has been clear since the beginning of the summer that Jadon Sancho is not one of the attacking players favoured by Red Devils' boss Ruben Amorim.

The Portuguese manager has signed Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo is forward positions, leaving no space for the unfavoured English star to earn a place in the team.

Earlier this month, multiple reports confirmed that Italian side AS Roma had launched a bid worth €23 million to sign Sancho permanently, which the player is yet to accept.

Despite Roma also signing fellow Premier League winger Leon Bailey, the club are still said to be interested in brining in Sancho.

The reason for the 25-year-old's decision to stall his potential deal with Roma has now been revealed by Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport.

Per the renowned Italian newspaper, Sancho is unsure of progressing with the move to Roma because of his romantic relationship with the US artist Saweetie.

Sancho is said to have been flying out to visit the rapper three times per month.

He may even be prepared to consider abandoning his playing career in Europe in order to live closer to Saweetie, with a move to the MLS.

Saweetie is best known for her 2017 debut single "Icy Grl" which has been streamed more than 200 million times on Spotify.

Man United believed to be willing to accept ridiculously low offer for Mainoo before deadline

Man United's woes under Ruben Amorim have continued into this season.

After finishing 15th in the Premier League last campaign, they have just one point from their first two game in 2025/2026, following a loss to Arsenal and a draw with Fulham.

And to the further dismay of fans, one of their brightest stars, Kobbie Mainoo, has been left on the bench for both games.

Rumours began to emerge that the 20-year-old midfielder would be happy to leave the club, with these fears only strengthening after a report from The Athletic this morning.

They wrote: "Mainoo is thought to prefer moving to the continent rather than staying in the Premier League — he explored options in Germany when coming through United’s academy — even though there has been interest from closer to home.

"When Chelsea enquired about his availability during the January window, Stamford Bridge officials were quoted a £70million asking price. There is a belief United would now accept around £45m, potentially even less as the deadline draws near."

Chelsea plotting £43 million move for star Barcelona attacker

Ornstein is reporting that Chelsea have made initial contact with the representatives of Fermin Lopez.

The 22-year-old scored eight goals and recorded 10 assists during 46 appearances for La Blaugrana last season.

Lopez made a name for himself as one of the stars of Spain's victory at the 2024 Olympics and has since become a key player for Hansi Flick's side.

Chelsea are yet to make a bid for the La Masia graduate who is valued at around €50 million or £43 million by Catalan outlet SPORT.
