England international striker ‘agrees deal’ to join new Premier League club

A number of England’s top stars have been on the move this summer.

Noni Madueke left Chelsea for Arsenal. James Trafford has rejoined Man City after a spell with Burnley. Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford has even made the switch to La Liga in joining FC Barcelona.

While most might have expected the next name on that list to be Ollie Watkins — who has been linked to moves with either of Newcastle or Man United — he’s been beaten to the line by Callum Wilson.

According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, the 33-year-old Englishman has agreed a deal to sign for West Ham United after leaving the Magpies at the end of his last contract.

Wilson has played 9 times for his country and has scored 49 Premier League goals across spells for Bournemouth and Newcastle United.

Rival Premier League club make surprise bid for Manchester United striker target

It’s no secret that Manchester United are in search of a new centre-forward.

The club’s current number-nine Rasmus Hojlund scored just four league goals as the Red Devils finished 15th in last season’s Premier League table.

After lining up deals for Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo — worth a combined £110 million — many thought United might be finished in the forward market.

That was until news emerged last week that United were in pursuit of RB Leipzig’s highly-rated Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko.

That move has been complicated as of today.

According to Sky Sports’ Keith Downie, Newcastle — rather than Manchester United — have made the first official move for Sesko.

With their star number nine, Alexander Isak currently demanding a transfer away from St James’ Park, Newcastle are also hunting for a new striker.

They’ve bid €75million for Sesko and are prepared to pay a further €5 million in add-ons.

This matches Leipzig’s valuation of the 22-year-old, so is widely expected to be accepted.

The move will ultimately come down to the player’s personal preference.

Son Heung-min to leave Spurs after ten years at club

Heung-min Son announced his decision to leave North London club Tottenham Hotspur at a tearful press conference last night.

Per Ben Jacobs of TalkSport, Son is already in talks with a new club and is expected to announce a switch to MLS side LA FC in the coming days.

The 33-year-old is one of the greatest players in Spurs' modern history, and was captain as they won their first trophy since 2009 in last season's Europa League final.

The South Korean joined Spurs from Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen in 2015 and has scored 173 goals in 454 appearances for the club.

Wrexham confirm signing of former England international

AFC Wrexham have been very productive in this summer’s transfer window, as they prepare for their first second-division campaign in more than 40 years.

Despite the failure of an ambitious move for ex-Man United player Christian Erikson, the Welsh side have still added all of  Liberato Cacace from Serie A side Empoli,  Sheffield Wednesday’s attacking midfielder Josh Windass, and ex-Leicester keeper Danny Ward to their ranks.

The Red Dragons have today wrapped up their biggest coup of the summer so far though, in the shape of experienced English defender Connor Coady, also from Leicester.

After beginning his career at Liverpool, Coady won acclaim when he moved across to Wolves and then Everton.

The 32-year-old played 10 times for the English national team and boasts just shy of 500 professional appearances.

At Wolves, Coady’s leadership proved vital as the midlands club returned to the Premier League for the first time in six years, so could he be the key figure to initiate a similar result for Wrexham this season?

Newcastle United identify their Alexander Isak replacement should he leave the club

Earlier today, Newcastle United rejected a bid from Liverpool for their star striker Alexander Isak that was worth around £110 million.

Despite the setback, Sky Sports’ Keith Downie has suggested that he expects Isak’s move to Anfield to be complete “within the next 7-10 days.”

Should Isak depart in that timeframe, the Magpies would need to sign another centre-forward before the new season begins on August 16th.

Callum Wilson — Isak’s backup last season — also departed the club this summer.

While Newcastle had initially viewed RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko as their dream Isak replacement, it appears that the 22-year-old Slovenian prefers a switch to Man United instead.

Per football journalist Craig Hope, Newcastle are now most likely to  move for Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins.

Watkins scored 17 goals last season and is valued at £40 million.

Date expected for Alexander Isak 'to join Liverpool' as first bid launched

Newcastle United are expected to lose their star striker Alexander Isak this summer.

The 25-year-old Swede is currently training alone with his ex-club Real Sociedad in Spain after telling the Magpies of his intention to leave the club this window.

Liverpool — who have already signed a striker in Hugo Ekitike this summer — are the favourites to land Isak’s signature.

As per David Ornstein of The Athletic, Liverpool have already made first contact with Newcastle and have submitted an opening bid worth well over £100 million for the player.

The bid has reportedly been rejected on grounds that Newcastle will not sell Isak for anything less than their £150 million asking price.

Despite the rejected bid, Keith Downie of Sky Sports says he expects the deal for Isak to still be completed within the next 7-10 days.

Both Newcastle and Liverpool will want their a clear indication of what their respective squads will look like well ahead of the Premier League’s opening day on August 16th.

Spurs agree deal for Bayern Munich midfielder

Spurs have agreed a deal for Bayern Munich midfielder João Palhinha.

The news was confirmed this morning by Fabrizio Romano who announced that Palhinha would be joining Tottenham on an initial loan deal with a €30m (£26m) option to buy.

The defensive midfielder was signed by the Bundesliga giants from Fulham after impressing in the Premier League, however, he struggled to do the same in the Bundesliga last season.

Spurs have now offered an exit route and return to England for the Portuguese 30-year-old who will bolster Thomas Frank's midfield options.

Palhinha made 25 appearances for Bayern last season, lacking minutes after missing a number of games through injury.

Hojlund speaks out on future amid Sesko links

Manchester United’s £67 million striker Rasmus Hojlund was a much under-fire figure for the Red Devils last season, after he managed to score just ten goals in all competitions.

The 22-year-old Dane had been rumoured to be close to a switch back to Serie A with Inter Milan earlier this summer but that move failed to materialise despite talks between the two clubs.

United have since been heavily linked with a striker signing of their own, and yesterday reports emerged that the club had narrowed down their search for a Hojlund replacement to either of Ollie Watkins or Benjamin Sesko.

Any new striker signing would mean that Hojlund is likely to be United’s second choice up-front for the start of the 2025/26 season.

Despite the new competition, Hojlund told The Mail’s Chris Wheeler that he planned to stay at the club to fight for his place.

Hojlund said: “I think my plan is very clear and that is for me to stay and fight for my spot whatever happens.”

Alexander Isak trains alone at Real Sociedad amid Liverpool links

Alexander Isak has been heavily linked with a move away from Newcastle over the last few weeks, after the news emerged that he had requested permission to speak to other clubs.

After Arsenal wrapped up a deal for Viktor Gyokeres last week, Liverpool are now seen as the most likely club to make a move for the 25-year-old striker.

They offered £120 million for Isak before instead signing Ekitike last month.

Liverpool are still said to be interested in a deal for Isak.

Per Sky News,  Isak is now training away from Newcastle’s squad.

He is training individually with his former club Real Sociedad.

Isak left Sociedad for Newcastle for a fee of £63m in 2022, and has scored 54 Premier League goals since.

It is in the Basque club’s interest to help Isak find a new club.

A clause in the Swede’s Newcastle contract would see Sociedad earn 10% of any deal above €70 million.

Newcastle would keep 100% of earnings up to €70 million, while Sociedad would take 10% of all earned above that boundary.

Man United 'enter talks' for world-class goalkeeper with process 'on'

Manchester United are widely reported to be in the market to sign a new goalkeeper to replace their unpopular number-one Andre Onana.

Onana — who is nursing a hamstring strain that will keep him out for the Red Devils’ first few Premier League fixtures — became a scapegoat for United’s defensive woes that saw them finish 15th last season.

While a move for Newcastle’s Nick Pope or Belgian talent Senne Lammens had been rumoured to be in the works, it appears now that Manchester United have set their sights much higher, on one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

According to renowned journalist Jan Aage Fjørtoft,, Manchester United are in talks to sign PSG shot-stopper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Donnarumma was the star for PSG as they won the treble last season, keeping Arsenal, Aston Villa and Inter Milan at bay on the way to the French club’s first Champions League title.
