The Manila International Airport Authority on Monday announced that some flights have been canceled due to unfavorable weather condition brought by the southwest monsoon enhanced by Typhoon Hanna.

Typhoon Hanna exits PAR; enhanced 'habagat' brings rain

Typhoon Hanna (international name: Haikui) continues to enhance the southwest monsoon, bringing heavy rain and gusty conditions, as it leaves the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

Several local government units have announced a class suspension on September 4 due to the continuous rains caused by habagat and Typhoon Hanna.

Signal No. 1 remains hoisted over Batanes

PAGASA says Typhoon Hanna behaves erratically off the coast of southwestern Taiwan and makes landfall in Kaohsiung City.

It is 5 a.m. tropical cyclone bulletin, Hanna was spotted 265 kilometers northwest of Itbayat, Batanes, packing maximum sustained winds of 120 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 150 kph.

It was moving south southwestward slowly. Only Batanes remains under Signal No. 1.

PAGASA: 'Hanna' to leave PAR late Sunday or early Monday

Typhoon Hanna (international name: Haikui) may leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility on late Sunday or early Monday after threatening the country with heavy rain and strong wind. 

In its latest bulletin, PAGASA said that Hanna was spotted 245 kilometers to the northwest of Itbayat in Batanes. It made a landfall over Taitung county in Taiwan. — Gaea Katreena Cabico

Two dead, over 400,000 affected by 'habagat' due to 'Hanna', 'Goring'

Two people reportedly died and over 400,000 individuals were affected by the southwest monsoon enhanced by cyclones Goring and Hanna, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported Sunday. 

The NDRRMC said in its latest report that it is validating the deaths reported in the Cordillera Administrative Region and in Western Visayas.  — Gaea Katreena Cabico

Thousands evacuated as Typhoon Haikui heads for Taiwan

Nearly 3,000 people were evacuated from high-risk areas in eastern Taiwan ahead of Typhoon Haikui (Philippine name Hanna) as authorities prepared Sunday for the first tropical storm to directly hit the island in four years.

Haikui -- which had already brought heavy rains by Sunday morning -- is packing a sustained wind speed of about 140 kilometres (39 miles) per hour, and is expected to make landfall in Taiwan's eastern Taitung area by 5:00 pm (0900 GMT). — Agence France-Presse

'Hanna' strengthens, continues to enhance 'habagat'

Typhoon Hanna (international name: Haiku) has slightly intensified and will continue to enhance the southwest monsoon, PAGASA said Sunday morning. 

Hanna was last seen 215 kilometers to the north northeast of Itbayat in Batanes, with peak winds of 150 kph and gusts of up to 185 kph. It was heading west at 20 kph. — Gaea Katreena Cabico

'Hanna' slightly intensifies as it heads for Taiwan

PAGASA says Typhoon Hanna has slightly intensified as it moved closer to the coast of southern Taiwan.

As of 4 a.m. on Saturday, Hanna was spotted 215 kilometers north northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, packing with maximum sustained winds of 150 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 185 kph.

It was moving westward at 20 kph. 

Signal No. 1 is raised over Batanes and the northern portion of Babuyan Islands (Babuyan Is., Calayan Is.).
