Bong Go files Senate candidacy without ex-president Duterte

Sen. Bong Go has filed his candidacy to be re-elected as senator — this time without former President Rodrigo Duterte by his side.

On Thursday, October 3, the former president's long-time aide registered his candidacy before the Commission on Elections alongside Sen. Ronald dela Rosa and actor Philip Salvador, two other senatorial aspirants under Partido Demokratiko ng Pilipino (PDP), which Duterte chairs.

Willie Ong undeterred by cancer, aims for Senate in 2025 polls

After two unsuccessful attempts at different political positions, physician and health advocate Willie Ong, popularly known as Doc Willie, is making another bid for a Senate seat.

Ong's wife, Liza, submitted his certificate of candidacy on Thursday, October 10, at the Commission on Elections in Manila, where he is running as an independent candidate.

Imee Marcos seeks reelection, stays independent from brother's slate

Sen. Imee Marcos filed her certificate of candidacy on Wednesday, October 2, seeking to retain her spot in the Senate. 

Members of the Marcos clan came in full force to support Imee, with former first lady Imelda Marcos making a rare public appearance to support her daughter. Her sons Borgy Manotoc and Michael Manotoc were also able to join her.

Content creators try hand in politics

Several content creators and vloggers have filed their candidacies with the Commission on Elections (Comelec), with some eyeing the Senate.

On the first day of the certificate of candidacy filing at the Manila Hotel, vlogger Norris John Okamoto became the first nominee of the Lingap Partylist or the Liga ng Pagkakaisang Mahirap (League of the United Poor).
