There is a very real world where Burns is up 2-0. I guess there is also a world where JDM is up 2-0, but that world is a little more fictional. Neither man should feel confident, these are competitive rounds.

JDM right to the center and backing Burns up. Burns still looking spry though. Eats a right hand and a left hook though. Really good cutting footwork from JDM but waiting a little. Not anymore! Burns goes high with a kick and JDM tags him! Burns covering up and JDM hitting body and head! Burns steps back and he's a little wobbly. 

Burns shoots a double. JDM defending but Burns tight on him. Burns has him to the fence and JDM almost gets down but he stays up barely. Burns is bleeding now but he does get JDM tot he ground. Awkward position here against the fence as JDM puts his back there and tries to stand. Burns holding those legs hard.

JDM looking a little frustrated as Burns stays tight on those legs and tries to suck out the hips. Now he goes over position and looks for a hook but JDM stands. Burns on the waist and JDM tries a kick over. DUMB! Burns stays on him and now he's sneaking to the back.

Wouldn't be crazy to give that first round to Burns. It was competitive. 

JDM takes the center right away and flashes the jab immediately. Burns feinting the kicks now but not getting reactions yet. JDM lands a snappy jab as Burns steps in. JDM is also switching stances seamlessly in there, giving Burns looks. Burns has a tricky little snatch single and gets it!

JDM trying to stay up but Burns on a cradle right now with the arm locked in. JDM clears the arm and gets to the fence. Now he's up and breaks free. 

OOF. Nasty elbow from Burns as JDM stepped in. He eats it well though. Starting to swell up now though. JDM jabbing in a ton now. 1 and 2. Burns throwing heat back at him but not finding the range. JDM straight to the body. He keeps doing that and it's working. 

Burns loads up for a right that gets blocked and JDM lands a very nice combo to the body as Burns covers up. This is very nice boxing from JDM right now. Burns eats a hook and has to bail. Another hook to the body from JDM. He's making all the right choices thus far. 

Monster right from Burns gets home but JDM eats it and there's nothing to follow. But now he shoots a blast double and gets it! JDM immediately onto a hip and turning. Burns riding with as JDM gets to a knee but Burns is on a cradle again and gets the position!

Burns smoothly into mount! JDM scrambles but Burns has the back now and the bodylock! Great finish to the round for Burns.

Both men out in orthodox and the both try to take the center to start. Circling on both ends but Burns kicks things off with a body kick into a calf kick. Both get home. JDM flashing the jab and a tight guard. Another body kick from Burns. Now he goes high but JDM blocks. 

And Burns shoots! Clean double leg. JDM tries to defend but Burns rides through and he's almost on the back! JDM scrambling, not allowing Burns to lock position and he gets up and backs to the fence. Burns staying on him here but JDM is in good position and has an underhook. Knee from JDM as Burns tries to climb down to the legs. 

JDM with strong defense and he tosses Burns! Burns keeps his balance but drops to a knee and JDM throws a big knee that grazes. That was close to illegal but no stoppage and we're still fighting.

JDM touching the body with jabs. He's controlling the center now and make a very smooth entry with a rear right. Burns body kick and heavy right to back him up and spin to space. Another right. Burns getting frisky in there now. JDM biding his time and he lands a good counter as Burns gets too aggressive.

Nice hook to the body from JDM. He's got Burns back to the fence at will now. And lands another to the body. Burns tries to return fire but JDM is out before he can. He's got the range now and Burns is looking a little frantic. Another body shot from JDM. 

Burns 1-2 high kick all air. Steps in. Burns body kick. He's staying active here even if he's not landing much. And he does bring JDM into range and Burns has a nice level change into a power double and finish. Short time but Burns gets off some good shots here including a big right hand before the buzzer.

Burns is 10 years older, 1 inch shorter, and has a 2-inch reach disadvantage. JDM is a -165 betting favorite with the comeback on Burns at +135.

Bruce Buffer gets the festivities started and JDM is just casually waiting in there. The crowd politely applauds. Burns is bouncing and the crowd gives him a little bit more love. Also, he's got some sick braids going. Got do something with all the flow on fight night I guess.

JDM comes out to "T.N.T." by AC/DC. Dude looks like he's taking a casual stroll. He is very comfortable with fist-fighting. No emotions, just something he does every couple months. 

I have no idea what Burns is walking out to but it bumps. He's got the Brazil flag bandana on and he, too, is supremely casual about all this. Crowd seems a little down right now, which is odd. 

We get a nice little break after this fight to show Donald Trump entering the arena and greeting people. Dana rocking a suit, so you know it's an important night. 

Anyway, that was a very good fight and Petr Yan ain't dead yet. What about Gilbert Burns though? Is the time of JDM nigh? Let's find out.
