Silva again pushed to her back and she's lying there. Araujo isn't biting and Silva is asked to stand again. Sharp leg kick by Araujo. Silva lunges in and then just drops to her back again, she looks so tired.

There's the body lock takedown for Silva. She earned that one. Araujo active off of her back. She threatens with an armbar. Silva scrambling and after a tense moment she gets the arm free, ending up on top in side control. D'Arce choke attempt by Silva now.

Araujo breaks it up and she ends up on top, punching down at Silva. Grueling fight.

Araujo working from the outside as Silva controls the center of the octagon. Silva flicking out kicks, Araujo lunges in and pops her with a good right hand. Araujo's counter game has been effective so far. Silva goes to grapple, Araujo deflects the attempt. Araujo looks light on her feet.

Silva advances with a 1-2, but Araujo tags her again. Looping right over the top by Araujo. Silva catching a lot of air with these strikes. Body shot by Araujo. Glancing left by Silva. Silva's starting to take chances, but Araujo is a step ahead.

Left hand by Silva and Araujo felt that one. Another solid punch follows. Araujo is getting backed up. Not sure that was enough for Silva to take the round.

Big test for Karine Silva here. She's looked like a possible contender, but she's going up against Viviane Araujo, a veteran that's held on to her ranking for a long time and is difficult to finish.

Araujo has only lost to some of the best at flyweight. We'll find out if Silva fits that bill tonight.
