The legend is taking the gloves off. This could be it.

He thanks Dana and explains that fight week was tough, beyond just a brutal weight cut. "I just don't have it in my heart anymore. I think this is the last time you're going to see me."

Zahabi says he was definitely rocked by Aldo, but was able to tell himself to recover in the moment.

Round 3

Aldo opening up with the urgency now. His corner had to know Round 2 was close. Zahabi zipping in punches and using good lateral movement to throw Aldo off. He mixes up his punches well and a good left gets through and clips Aldo.

Hard right by Aldo and Zahabi looked wobbled. A knee follows and Zahabi goes to the mat, might have been a push-down, but he's definitely hurt. Aldo flurries and goes for another knee, looked like it was that close to ending the fight. Zahabi recovers. Three minutes to go and Zahabi could be the fresher fighter, especially after that burst from Aldo.

Zahabi clinches up and lands solid knees. Aldo shoots in for a takedown, he looks EXHAUSTED. Zahabi has free rein to go the ground and he does, landing some punches even with Aldo working to get him in full guard.

Big elbows from Zahabi. He's running away with this round and now it's just a question of whether Aldo can even make it to the bell because he's not getting up from this position. Aldo just working to tie Zahabi up. Still a minute to go.

Zahabi timing these elbows perfectly and he has Aldo cut open. More elbows. Thirty seconds. Aldo staying just busy enough to avoid getting stopped, but this is edging closer to a 10-8 for Zahabi (though Aldo did hurt him earlier).

Round 2

Zahabi changing tactics here with leg kicks from distance. Jab from Aldo keeps Zahabi back. Zahabi answers with jabs of his own but Aldo is staying just out of reach. Aldo keeping his own jab in Zahabi's face and there's a good response from Zahabi who finds the range with his left. He walks into a pair of stiff Aldo jabs, though.

Zahabi coming forward, taking some shots, perhaps trying to chip away at Aldo's gas tank. Dangerous tactic, for sure, especially with Aldo repeatedly hitting his body. Good left hook from Zahabi. Right hand from Zahabi. There's a left, Zahabi has landed some good shots in this round.

Cup shot has referee Dan Miragliotta checking on Aldo. He takes a break, but says he's fine.

Zahabi with some great movement, trying to match Aldo. Aldo riding that jab. Another low kick lands in the wrong spot and this time Aldo doesn't look too happy about it. The action starts back up, Aldo goes the body, Zahabi hits a long left. He's finding confidence with that jab. Aldo tries a flying knee at the end, but Zahabi just mean mugs him.

Aldo immediately stalking. Little output from either fighter, Zahabi breaks the tension with a couple of jabs as Aldo evades by stepping back. Aldo punches the body, then throws a quick 1-2. Good body shot by Aldo, his hands get loose and he stings Zahabi with a couple of shots. Zahabi not backing down though, he returns fire.

Glancing right by Zahabi, though his attack left him off-balance and unable to follow-up. Aldo scores with a right. Two rips to the body by Aldo, vintage work. Counter left hook by Aldo. Zahabi avoiding the worst of Aldo's attacks, but he's been unable to assert himself in any way.

Good jabs from Zahabi as he backs Aldo up. Aldo keeping his hands low, some cocky head movement as he fires back. Aldo keeping up the volume. Zahabi not backing down. Two more good body shots by Aldo. Zahabi clinches and lands a knee to the body, Aldo separates and hits a left hook. Good stuff from both fighters.

It's Jose Aldo time!

After a messy weigh-in situation, Aldo finds himself back at featherweight, the division he dominated for years. Sure, it was supposed to be at 135 pounds and got changed because Aldo was struggling to make it, but... we don't need to talk about this.

Aimeann Zahabi has won five straight fights and can pick up the biggest win of his career if he gets past "The King of Rio."
