Post-fight comments

Saint Preux is all smiles talking with Jon Anik. He thanks his coaches for their work and credits taking up mountain biking to help his cardio. He also says he's ready to fight again next week but certainly wants to fight again before the end of the year,

Official Decision

Ovince Saint Preux knocks out Alonzo Menifield at 4:07 of Round 2.

What a knockout
BOOM goes the dynamite

OSP is now throwing a ton of kicks. Menifield is on the outside and so it's a perfect weapon for him. OSP lands a big right hand that gets Menifield backing up. After an exchange, Menifield lands a shot and OSP stumbles back, but it looks like a slip. Menifield is charging at him now though and OSP LANDS A MASSIVE LEFT HOOK!!

Menifield is faceplanted by a backward-stepping left hook from OSP. What a performance for the former interim-title challenger!

Halfway mark of Round 2

To start round two, OSP is moving forward and looks none the worse for wear from that punch. He is, however, loading up on shots more to start this round and Menifield is able to counter more effectively. Still, Menifield is not throwing much offense and the kicking game of OSP is piling up points here.

Round 1

OSP is not throwing much but his left hand has been landing cleanly. He's really looking to take advantage of his size advantage. Menifield looks a little confused on how to attack and he's eaten a number of front kicks to the body as a well.

Menifield is doing nothing to cause problems for Saint Preux at this point and OSP is starting to come forward more, clearly getting comfortable. But he pays for it! Menifield lands the best shot of the round,  a left hook with OSP's hands down that staggers the former Volunteer. Unfortunately, that shot comes right at the bell and the round ends before anything else can happen.

First two minutes

Jason Herzog is the third man in the cage for this light heavyweight bout. Menifield looks quite a bit smaller than OSP and early on, he's allowing OSP  to pot-shot at range. After eating a  right hand, Menifield closes the distances and clinches OSP against the cage. Very slow pace to start this one.
