Was it an early finish? Maybe.
Israel Adesanya got off to a good start, but he got badly hurt with each of the clean shots Nassourdine Imavov landed on him. I don't think the stoppage was egregious enough to halt Imavov's rise up the rankings, or his chances of getting in the title picture soon after Du Plessis vs. Strickland 2. HIGHLIGHTS
In the co-main event Shara Magomedov shot nothing but blanks, taking a back seat in the fight to Michael Page. There wasn't much action in this one, despite what we thought might happen when these two would meet. However, Page pushed the pace and showed a lot more aggression than the previous undefeated Magomedov. HIGHLIGHTS
We had an even worse fight before that one. Sergei Pavlovich beat Jairzinho Rozenstruik in a very boring affair. Pavlovich got some take downs and laid on Rozenstruik for large portions of the second and fourth rounds.
Vinicius Oliveira got a win over Said Nurmagomedov after a gruelling tactical battle. Nurmagomedov was flowing early with his flashy kicks, but Oliviera used his wrestling to grind out a win.
Fares Ziam beat Mike Davis to open the main card. This was the best fight of the night, by miles. Ziam's striking continues to look very dangerous, as he bloodied Davis and avoided some tricky and unorthodox grappling situations.
We had a couple of finishes on the undercard.
Shamil Gaziev flattened Thomas Petersen with a walk-off KO. HIGHLIGHTS
Terrance McKinney sliced through Damir Hadzovic and finished him with ground and pound. HIGHLIGHTS
And Bogdan Grad beat up a gassed Lucas Alexander. HIGHLIGHTS
Jasmine Jasudavicius picked up a big win over Mayra Bueno Silva in the undercard. Jasudavicius hurt her with an elbow on the ground and MBS's faded quickly (physically and mentally) after that.
In the first fight of the night the judges robbed Jamal Pogues, handing a decision to Hamdy Abdulwahab.
