5 Things to know following Minnesota's victory

1.) Max Brosmer Makes History: Safe to say that Brosmer's lone season in a Gophers uniform will go down as a success. Finishing 18-for-29 for 211 yards and a TD, Brosmer set a new Minnesota record for most completions in a season with 268.

2.) Darius Taylor Shines: Following his 130 total yards Friday night, Taylor should be one of the best RB's in the nation next year as a junior.

3.) Elijah Spencer, MVP: With Daniel Jackson sitting out Friday night (NFL Draft), Spencer had one of the best games of his career with 6 catches for 81 yards and two TD's.

4.) Koi Perich Is A Star: In the days of the transfer portal and NIL, Fleck's biggest win of the year came when freshman All-American safety/returner Koi Perich announced he was remaining with the Gophers. The local kid, Perich will be one of the best defensive players in the country next season.

5.) Defense Comes Up Big: In what was their best performance of the season, the Gophers DL came up big. They finished with 5 sacks and 9 TFL's on the night, rarely letting Virginia Tech find a rhythm on offense.
