Crosby-Ironton wielded superior size and athleticism to post an 85-72 victory over Minnehaha Academy in the Class 2A semifinals at Williams Arena.

The Rangers got 31 points and four steals from Regan Juenemann and 27 points and 17 rebounds from Tori Oehrlein.

The victory sets up a Class 2A championship game between two undefeated teams, three-time defending champion Providence Academy (31-0) and Crosby-Ironton (32-0).

2A Semis, Second Half: Crosby-Ironton 76, Minnehaha Academy 57

It should be noted that Tori Oehrlein is already the leading rebounder in state girls basketball history. 2A Semis, Second Half: Crosby-Ironton 69, Minnehaha Academy 48

To Minnehaha's credit, its defensive focus on Tori Oehrlein is frustrating the Rangers star. She's had to work for all of her 20 points; she averages 30 a game. But she's doing it in other ways. She has 14 rebounds and four assists. Rangers lead 69-48 with 5:14 left

2A Semis, Second Half: Crosby-Ironton 61, Minnehaha Academy 43

CI's size and athleticism is taking a toll on Minnehaha Academy. The Redhawks are struggling to find their offense when the ball is not in Addi Mack's hands. CI leads 61-43 after a layup from Regan Jueneman, who has taken the pressure off  Oehrlein to do the lion's share of the scoring.

2A Semis, Second Half: Crosby-Ironton 48, Minnehaha Academy 31

Game has picked up in the early stages of the first half. Minnehaha Academy's Addi Mack is doing her thing, weaving through the lane and making layups. But right now it's 1-on-5 in favor of Crosby-Ironton. Mack's not getting much help from her supporting cast.

Have a game, Regan Juenemann. The Crosby-Ironton senior guard has scored the Rangers' last 13 points and has a team-leading 20.

2A Semis, Halftime: Crosby-Ironton 40, Minnehaha Academy 22

Crosby-Ironton has built out a big lead behind 16 points from Tori Oerhlein and 10 from Sammie Hachey.

But really, it's the Rangers defense that has shone so far. Minnehaha Academy is a team averaging 78.9 points per game this season — the Redhawks have only 22 in this half against the Rangers. They're swarmed quickly and aren't getting open looks, shooting just 8-for-31 (25.8%) from the floor, compared to the Rangers' 14-for-28 shooting (50%). Crosby-Ironton has done well to limit the sharpshooting of Addi Mack, though the Maryland commit got four points late, up to 11 at half.

Tori Oehrlein with a relatively quiet 10 points to lead Crosby-Ironton to a 25-11 first half lead over Minnehaha Academy. The taller Rangers are shutting down the Redhawks with a matchup zone. Minnehaha is not getting any open looks.

2A Semis, First Half: Crosby-Ironton 25, Minnehaha Academy 11

Crosby-Ironton has pulled away on an early run, up 25-11 now with under six minutes to go in the first half. Rangers junior and Gophers commit Tori Oehrlein is feeling right at home in her future stomping grounds. She earned two and-ones in that stretch, one on a lofty inbounds pass from Lucy Lewandowski, another driving to the basket.

2A Semis, First Half: Crosby-Ironton 10, Minnehaha Academy 6

At the first timeout, the Rangers have a slight edge with 11:04 to play in the first half.

Sammie Hachey leads Crosby-Ironton with six points, while Gigi Coleman has netted a team-high three for Minnehaha.

Crosby-Ironton is on its fourth trip to state, looking for its first state title. Minnehaha was the 2019 Class 2A champ and has been to state the past four years but hasn't returned to the championship game in that stretch.

2A Semis: Off to the races, Crosby-Ironton and Minnehaha Academy

Providence Academy waits to see who will try to dethrone it — the winner of our next Class 2A semifinal, No. 2 seed Crosby-Ironton vs. No. 3 Minnehaha Academy. The undefeated Rangers won the teams' regular-season matchup 85-65, but that was without Minnehaha Academy's leading scorer — and the state's leading scorer —  Addi Mack, a Maryland commit who puts up 33.4 points per game.
