That's all the time we have for today.

Thanks everybody for all the great questions! This has been a blast. Let's all go get a snack, and if you see us racing around at the Great Minnesota Get-Together, please say hi and maybe share a cheese curd or an antacid. The 2025 Minnesota State Fair countdown has officially begun.

If you have thoughts on this format, fill out this short survey to let us know.

Do people really obsess over new State Fair foods, or is it just the media flogging an irresistible cliche?

This was a question from Mike Stevesand on Facebook.

There is genuine excitement here. I know every year there is grumbling, but there's nothing like the State Fair. It's an abundance of food in all formats, but it's fun. There's enough to feel bad about in the world, but there isn't much that can't be made just a tiny bit better with sprinkles and food on a stick. And maybe if we all put down our keyboards, stretched out our hands and shared an overflowing paper boat of cheese curds, we would realize that we're not so different after all. Just don't take the last cheese curd.
