It's been an epic run from Rangers to reach Seville but they fell agonisingly short at the very end.

Next up for the Ibrox side, the small matter of the Scottish Cup final against Heart of Midlothian at Hampden on Saturday.

 Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst says Aaron Ramsey is "very down" after missing his penalty in the shootout against Frankfurt.

Speaking at the post match news conference, he said: "It's never nice to lose and so everyone is hurt, disappointed, and you can sense that in the locker room.

"I think it's also normal so short after the game. You know, Aaron of course was disappointed. But he took responsibility to take the penalty.

"And well you can make it or you can miss it. Unfortunately for us, he didn't make it."

Rangers fans who watched the match at a pub in Glasgow said they were proud despite their side losing to Frankfurt on penalties in the Europa League final.

Rangers were beaten in the Europa League final by Eintracht Frankfurt, ending the club’s hopes of a first European trophy since 1972.

Eintracht Frankfurt have won the Europa League, winning 5-4 on penalties after the match finishes 1-1 after-extra-time.
