FINAL SCORE: 3-2. Liverpool win their opening game of the champions league campaign in more dramatic than necessary fashion, as they dominate Milan with high octane football but give up silly goals through sloppy game management, making things difficult for themselves.

63’: sadi mane comes on for Divock origi

60’: with an hour gone, the game has styled down somewhat. Some tired legs out there already and Liverpool look like they’re waiting for some subs

Back in the driving seat, the Reds are pushing their guests back, racking up corners and long shots as they push for the lead.

GOAL!!! 2-2. Divock origi with a gorgeous and perfectly timed chip through for Mo, who lets the ball bounce before dispatching it into the back of the net from short range.

HALF-TIME: the Reds came out like a house on fire and should have been up by much more than a single goal after 20 minutes. They failed to execute when attempting to control the game towards the end of the half, however, and were punished by a Milan side that scored both their chances.

The Reds’ pace seemed unsustainable, but Jürgen klopp has five substitutes available and is likely to use all of them tonight if his team are to keep up their intensity.
